8.00 Departure by helicopter from the Vatican heliport
8.25 Arrival at the Gran Sasso Stadium, L’Aquila, in private; transfer by car to Piazza Duomo
8.45 In Piazza Duomo, the Holy Father will be received by:

- Cardinal Giuseppe Petrocchi, archbishop of L’Aquila;
- Dr. Marco Marsilio, president of the Abruzzo Region;
- Dr. Cinzia Teresa Torraco, prefect of L’Aquila;
- Dr. Pierluigi Biondi, mayor of L’Aquila.

Accompanied by Cardinal Petrocchi, the Holy Father will enter the Duomo for a private visit (the Cathedral is still in disrepair after the 2009 earthquake)
9.15 On the parvis of the Duomo:

- The Holy Father will address a greeting to the families of the victims, the authorities, and citizens present in the Square

At the end, transfer by car to the Basilica of Saint Mary in Collemaggio
10.00 On the forecourt of the Basilica of Collemaggio: Holy Mass

- Homily
- Angelus 
- Rite for the Opening of the Holy Door
12.30 At the end, the Holy Father will take leave of the authorities who received him; transfer by car to the Gran Sasso Stadium
12.45 Gran Sasso Stadium: departure from L’Aquila
13.15 Arrival at the Vatican heliport
