This morning, the President of the Republic of Poland, His Excellency Mr. Andrzej Duda, was received at the Secretariat of State by His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness, accompanied by Msgr. Mirosław Wachowski, Under-Secretary for Relations with States.

The cordial talks took place on the eve of the 20th anniversary of the death of Saint John Paul II, and close to the millennium of the coronation of the first Polish King, Bolesław Chrobry. Various topics of mutual interest were discussed.

Attention then turned to current international issues, with particular reference to the war in Ukraine and security and peace in Europe.
