Resignation and appointment of bishop prelate of Infanta, Philippines
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the territorial prelature of Infanta, Philippines, presented by Bishop Bernardino C. Cortez.
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Dave Dean Capucao, of the clergy of the territorial prelature of Infanta, Philippines, until now rector of the Saint Joseph Formation House in Quezon City, as bishop prelate of the same prelature.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Dave Dean Capucao was born on 25 September 1965 in Daet, Naga, Camerines Sur. He entered the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and studied philosophy at Saint Louis University in Baguio and theology at the Maryhill School of Theology, Quezon City. He entered the seminary of the prelature of Infanta. He was awarded a doctorate in theology from Radboud University in Nijmegen, Netherlands, and in sacred theology from the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium.
He was ordained a priest on 3 October 1994 for the prelature of Infanta.
He has held the following offices: parish priest of Nuestra Señora de Salvacion in Casiguran, Aurora (1994-2000), researcher at Radboud University in the Netherlands (2002-2006), parish priest of Saint Ludger in the archdiocese of Utrecht, Netherlands (2007-2011), academic and pastoral director and formator of the Saint Joseph Formation House in Quezon City (2012-2014), rector of the Saint Joseph Formation House in Quezon City (since 2015), teacher in various seminaries and schools of theology (since 2012), and superintendent of the Catholic Schools of the Prelature of Infanta (since 2021).
