In the afternoon, the Holy Father Leo XIV had a telephone conversation with His Excellency Mr. Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, President of the Government of Spain, during which he thanked him for the attendance of King Felipe and Queen Leticia at the Eucharistic Celebration for the Beginning of his Petrine Ministry.

During the talks, topics of common interest were discussed, including the migration crisis, the need to build bridges to resolve ongoing conflicts, and the defence of human dignity.

Finally, after speaking about the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, to be held in the month of June in Seville, the President of the Government of Spain renewed the invitation to the Holy Father to visit the country.
