Resignation and appointment of bishop of Elblag, Poland
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Elblag, Poland, presented by Bishop Jacek Jezierski.
The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Wojciech Skibicki as bishop of Elblag, Poland, transferring him from the titular see of Casae Nigrae and the office of auxiliary of Elblag.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Wojciech Skibicki was born on 23 May 1970 in Skrwilno, diocese of Płock. After his studies in philosophy and theology, he was ordained a priest on 10 June 1995 in Elblag and incardinated in the same diocese.
After ordination, he first held the roles of parish vicar of Holy Family in Elblag (1995-1996) and personal secretary and chaplain of the bishop of Elblag (1996-1997 and 2003-2010). He was awarded a doctorate in liturgy from the Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski Jana Pawła II (2003), and went on to serve as vice rector of the major seminary (2004-2016), director of the Department for Catholic Education of the diocesan Curia (since 2016), member of the College of Consultors, canon of the Cathedral Chapter of Elblag, spokesperson of the diocesan Curia, head of apostolic formation of families, and member of the Chemin Neuf community.
On 14 February 2019 he was appointed titular bishop of Casae Nigrae and auxiliary of the diocese of Elblag, receiving episcopal ordination on 6 April 2019.
