Appointment of Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops and President of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America, and confirmation of Secretary and Undersecretary of the same Dicastery

His Holiness Leo XIV has appointed Archbishop Filippo Iannone, O.Carm., hitherto Prefect of the Dicastery for Legislative Texts, as Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops and President of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America. He will assume office this coming 15 October 2025.

The Supreme Pontiff has confirmed Archbishop Ilson de Jesus Montanari as Secretary of the Dicastery for Bishops ad aliud quinquennium.

The Holy Father has confirmed Monsignor Ivan Kovač as Undersecretary of the same Dicastery ad aliud quinquennium.
