Today, 29 September 2025, the Holy Father Leo XIV received in audience, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the President of the Republic of Guinea Bissau, His Excellency Mr. Umaro Sissoco Embaló, who subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness, accompanied by Monsignor Mirosław Wachowski.

During the cordial talks held at the Secretariat of State, the good relations between the Holy See and Guinea Bissau were emphasized, evoking the contribution of the Church to promote the common good, especially in the fields of education and healthcare.

The conversation turned to various aspects of the country’s political, social and economic situation, and there was an exchange of opinions on current international affairs.
