Appointment of bishop of Boac, Philippines
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Edwin Oracion Panergo, of the clergy of the diocese of Lucena, until now rector of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Seminary in Sariaya, Quezon, as bishop of the diocese of Boac, Philippines.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Edwin Oracion Panergo was born on 7 September 1971 in Lucena City. He studied philosophy at Saint Francis de Sales Major Seminary in Lipa City and theology at Saint Alphonsus School of Theology in Lucena City. He was then awarded a licentiate in Guidance and Counselling from Saint Louis University in Baguio City, and in theology from the Studium de Notre Dame de Vie in Venasque.
He was ordained a priest on 8 September 1997 for the diocese of Lucena.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Saint Michael the Archangel Basilica in Tayabas (1997-1998), member of the Team Ministry of Saint Roche in Illasan (1998-2000), parish priest of Saint Roche in Panaon (2000-2002), and spiritual director of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Seminary in Lucan (2004-2009; 2012-2015).
Since 2015, he has served as rector of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Seminary in Sariaya.
