His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness, spoke this afternoon with His Excellency Mr. Joseph Aoun, President of Lebanon.

During the cordial telephone conversation, His Eminence congratulated Mr. Aoun for his election to the Presidency of the Republic and expressed his best wishes, assuring the President of his prayers.

He also noted with pleasure the timely appointment of Mr. Nawaf Salam as Prime Minister today.
