This morning, shortly before 11.00 in the rooms behind the Paul VI Hall, Pope Francis met with the directors and staff of the “A. Gemelli” Hospital Foundation, of the Catholic University, and Vatican City State Directorate for Health and Hygiene – around seventy people in total – who assisted him during the days of his hospitalization last month.

After some words of greeting from the President of the Gemelli Foundation Board, Daniele Franco, and good wishes for Easter and for his continuing recovery, the Pope thanked all those present, assuring them of his prayers, and asking them to pray for him. “Thank you for your service in the hospital, it is very good – keep it up!”, he concluded.

Pope Francis then greeted and thanked all those present individually, starting with the Rector of the University, Elena Beccalli.

The meeting lasted approximately twenty minutes.
