Dicastery for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life

PRESS RELEASE

The Dicastery for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life, which has the competence to “promote, encourage and regulate the practice of the evangelical counsels, how they are lived out in the approved forms of consecrated life” (Praedicate Evangelium, 121), in agreement with the Holy Father Francis, has appointed His Most Reverend Excellency José Antonio Satué Huerto, Bishop of Teruel y Albarracìn, as pontifical delegate of the religious-clerical Instituto del Verbo Encarnado, and Sr. Clara Echarte, FI, as pontifical delegate of the women’s religious Institute Servidoras del Señor y de la Virgen de Matará, both of diocesan right, founded in the diocese of San Rafael, Argentina, and with their headquarters in the diocese of Velletri-Segni, Italy.

Ever since its founding, the Dicastery has always followed the affairs of the two Institutes with particular care and solicitude. The decision was made at the end of an Apostolic Visit to the women’s Institute conducted by the same Sr. Clara Echarte, FI., together with several collaborators, and in continuation with the accompaniment of His Eminence Cardinal Santos Abril y Castelló, Pontifical Commissioner of the men’s Institute, to whom heartfelt thanks are owed for his paternal service over recent years. It is thus intended to continue to accompany these two young Institutions of consecrated life, in particular with regard to formation, religious discipline, the apostolate and governances (cf. Praedicate Evangelium, 121, 124).
