The New Synod Hall to host the II International Meeting on Meaning, led by Scholas and CAF
Vatican City, May 26, 2025 – This Tuesday marks the start of the II International Meeting on Meaning, hosted in the New Synod Hall of the Vatican and organized by Scholas Occurrentes and CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean. The event builds on over a decade of joint efforts across the region and aims to project new initiatives for the future.
Running through Thursday, May 29, the meeting will bring together over one hundred leaders from different religions, cultures, and disciplines to reflect on Pope Francis’ legacy around the culture of encounter and the construction of meaning, especially among young people. Participants will explore new educational, artistic, and social proposals to address today's global challenges, with a special focus on Latin America and the Caribbean.
One of the most anticipated moments of the gathering will be the launch of the Scholas 2030 Plan, a roadmap outlining the organization’s educational work across five continents over the next decade.
The opening ceremony will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, May 28, in the Synod Hall, and will feature remarks by Scholas’ global directors, José María del Corral and Enrique Palmeyro, as well as Christian Asinelli, CAF’s Corporate Vice President of Strategic Programming.
The closing ceremony on Thursday, May 29, will be attended by Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, Prefect of the Dicastery for Culture and Education.
