PRESS RELEASE

In Rome on 12 and 13 September, two days of fraternity, dialogue and culture

WORLD MEETING ON HUMAN FRATERNITY 2025

Two hundred media operators accredited, thematic round tables sold out, concluding event in Saint Peter’s Square with over three thousand drones

VATICAN, 11 SEPTEMBER – Everything is ready for the third edition of the World Meeting on Human Fraternity, scheduled to take place in Rome on 12 and 13 September. The event, promoted by Saint Peter’s Basilica, will feature fifteen thematic round tables and laboratories for exchange and dialogue with international figures. The participants in the two days will include Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, archpriest of Saint Peter’s Basilica, vicar general of Vatican City State and president of the Fabric of Saint Peter; Graça Machel Mandela, activist and politician, co-founder of The Elders, and Maria Ressa, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate 2021.

Cardinal Mauro Gambetti emphasized that “our intention is for fraternity to become a genuine compass to guide the life of communities, institutions and people. The experience of the Round Tables will help us to meet and listen, to get to know and recognize each other. To rediscover fraternity is to choose words and actions capable of transforming economies, policies and social relations, so that they are based on the human being and on shared dignity. It is the heart of this Meeting, which is intended to generate hope and change”.

The Round Tables – which include themes such as Information, Environment and Sustainability, Economics and Finance and Artificial Intelligence – were fully booked within a few days. “It is an extraordinary sign”, declared Father Enzo Fortunato. “More than two hundred international journalists and media operators have been accredited in order to follow this common journey close up. The fact that the Round Tables have sold out confirms the desire for dialogue and the need to rediscover together the strength of fraternity, whose roots are found in the Gospel”.

The meeting will culminate with the evening of 13 September in Saint Peter’s Square: Grace for the World. The event will feature international artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Pharrell Williams, John Legend and Il Volo, and an air display of over three thousand drones and lights, inspired by the masterpieces of the Sistine Chapel.
